Meet the Founder
I’m Chris Jennings, CFP®, founder of Bronx River Advisory.
I’m an education-first advisor who helps people in transition bring clarity and confidence to their financial lives. I built this firm to be the opposite of high pressure and jargon. We lead with curiosity, then education, followed by a structured plan of action.
There’s no such thing as a silly question here. If you're seeking a safe space to discuss your money, look no further.

Why I Built Bronx River Advisory
The traditional wealth management model is built for people whose financial lives are already mostly well-organized. But life rarely works that way. People usually seek advice in the middle of a major transition: a sudden loss, a divorce, an inheritance, a career pivot, or a looming decision.
That’s exactly when the traditional model fails them. Instead of a steady hand and a clear roadmap, they’re met with sales pitches, confusing jargon, and demands for lifelong commitments.
I built Bronx River Advisory to be the exact opposite.
The Approach
My role is to serve as your objective sounding board. I don’t expect you to walk in with a perfectly organized binder of account statements. I expect you to walk in with questions, concerns, and a desire for clarity.
We start there. We triage the decisions that can’t wait, we build a Cat’s Eye View of where you stand today, and we map out the path forward together, one manageable step at a time.
My Background
Before opening the doors in Bronxville, I spent more than a decade as a Vice President at a nationally recognized wealth management firm. What clients appreciated most was help navigating the emotional and logistical complexity that comes with sudden wealth or sudden change — not just the numbers, but the decisions behind them.
Today, that work includes tax-efficient investment and spending strategies, legacy planning, charitable giving, and guiding clients through multi-year decisions like buying a co-op or condo, including the financial due diligence that helps avoid costly missteps. I also help clients optimize employer benefits, navigate stock grants, and implement strategies like in-plan Roth conversions.
I hold the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification. As a CFP® professional, I have a fiduciary duty to act in your best interest when providing financial advice. I don’t sell products and I don’t accept hidden commissions.
Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Center for Financial Planning, Inc. owns and licenses the certification marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®, and CFP® (with plaque design) in the United States to Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., which authorizes individuals who successfully complete the organization’s initial and ongoing certification requirements to use the certification marks.
Outside the Office
When I’m not working with clients at 51 Pondfield Road or via Zoom, I’m usually plotting an escape to somewhere warm, a habit that gets harder to break every winter.
I’m the proud uncle of six, which has taught me more about patience and long-term thinking than any financial model ever could. I support animal rescue through board service and through my Donor-Advised Fund, the Cash the Cat Giving Fund.
And of course, I’m keeping a close eye on Cash, making sure his editorial standards remain as sharp as his claws.

What’s with the cat?
When designing this website, I could have used a stock photo of a silver-haired couple on a sailboat. But that would not have felt sincere at all. Instead, meet Cash, my rescue cat adopted from Paws Crossed Animal Rescue.
If you've been looking for a safe place to ask questions about your money, how you feel about these illustrations is a pretty good test of whether I'm the right advisor for you.
Please note that Cash works from home and sets his own hours, so you won't ever see him at 51 Pondfield Road, but he makes an occasional video cameo when I'm working from home.
Let’s talk about where you’re standing right now.
